Jamaica Jet Lag Journal: Catered Spring Break
There are few things better than a vacation in a beautiful locale, except when you do it with 20 other people that you know and have great parties together. Spring Break? Close. Try Catered Spring Break. My friends threw a couple beautiful parties right on the cliffs of The Rockhouse and The Caves in Negril as the sun set. With glowing lanterns and banana cake and little shells at every place setting, they could not have been more magical. Well maybe if Taye Diggs was there it could have been more magical. But it was pretty great, nonetheless.
I loved these parties, but I have such dancing anxiety and shame trying to dance in Jamaica. The staff danced with us, and honestly their Jamaican moves were like liquid. They were so smooth. We looked like a bunch of chickens, all pale limbs and jerky movements. Oh and when the limbo stick came out….aaaaaaa. Embarrassing.During the daytime, I spent some time at the spa. I love this photo below on the floor of the spa – bleached rocks, my Panama hat (made in Ecuador, not in Panama) that was actually quite helpful and not just for vanity, and the rum punch that was always in hand. I even popped in after scuffing up my pedicure on the cliffs and they let me help myself to their nail polishes. Of course, Catered Spring Break would not be complete without the requisite gorgeous sunset photos. As the sun fades on Jamaica, so it does on this Jet Lag Journal. Much respect, mon.
