Brunch = the greatest meal of the day AND the best part of the weekend. At Egg Shop, after waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes with Kyra, I was not disappointed. We were given a seat right in the front window, and the staff opened it wide open so we had a really lovely breeze. I handed my camera through the window to a guy waiting for a table who snapped this shot of us before our meal:
Egg Shop, founded by a couple who fell in love in the Lower East Side, is always organic and locally sourced. And the restaurant is cute as can be. After being seated in that lovely window, we were brought a free plate of fresh hash browns, just because there were some extras in the kitchen! The food was truly delicious. Below is the Avo & Egg Sandwich and the Benedict Cruiser (an eggs benedict in a bowl with buttery croutons made from an English muffin).
Egg Shop is located at the nexus of brunch spots, 151 Elizabeth Street. Open every day, 8:00 AM – midnight. No reservations.
